Developed as the companion handbook for an international leadership workshop, Leadership Journey presents leadership as a practice of developing both individuals and the systems in which they operate. Rather than focusing solely on management techniques, the guide encourages leaders to strengthen self-awareness, build coaching relationships, foster psychologically healthy teams, and understand how organizational culture influences performance and decision-making.

Topics include coaching leadership, systems thinking, safety science, emotional intelligence, practical leadership behaviours, organizational culture, and reflective practice. The resource concludes by inviting participants to consider the Ethiopian concept of Yilugnta as a lens for leadership, dignity, responsibility, and community, illustrating how effective leadership must always be understood within its cultural context.

Although originally developed for a specific international audience, many of the ideas explored in this publication continue to influence my broader research into governance, human development, knowledge translation, and institutional effectiveness. It represents an important stage in the evolution of a continuing inquiry into how people, organizations, and systems learn, adapt, and create conditions for better decision-making.
